Having been to Hoover's a few times, I can confidently say that their catfish is the best fried catfish in Austin. The coating on the fish is always crispy and flavorful. The meat is firm and has a tenderness to it which makes each bite delicious.

What I especially appreciate about Hoover's Cooking is that they don't skimp on any of the accompaniments. Their coleslaw and hush puppies are equally as good as the catfish itself.

Speaking of service, what stands out most at Hoover's is their hospitality. Whenever we dine there, our server makes sure that one extra detail isn't forgotten - from getting extra tartar sauce after I made a comment that it should be served with the meal to suggesting sides like collards or macaroni & cheese that go great with the catfish. I was so excited to see that Colleen's Kitchen had the best fried catfish in Austin. The fish was cooked perfectly; lightly battered and served with a side of tartar sauce for dipping.
